Villa Mango Trees is absolutely beautiful. It is a long drive over winding hills from the party part of Bali, which is exactly what we wanted. Being so remote would be challenging but Iluh and Putu were there to help with transportation arrangements, shopping, cooking and keeping things tidy. Everything in the villa was in great condition. The beach had trash (as did every one we saw in Bali), but was cleaned in front of the villa. This was of little consequence because we practically lived in the gorgeous warm pool. Restaurants in the area were good, but the home cooking could not be beat and was very affordable. Nearby towns were mostly locals, and sightseeing up north is limited, which made staying at the villa so easy. Shopping at Krisna was very affordable with the largest selection of anywhere we came across. At night, there are mosquitoes (hence the netting on the beds), but there also is a large number of means provided to control them. If we find ourselves back in Bali we won’t hesitate to stay at this gorgeous villa.
