These were our first three nights on Bali after a two week slog across Java and Borneo so we wanted somewhere that we could really chill. We thought about booking a beach villa, but are so glad that we went in the end for Villa Bayu.. The location is truly spectacular. The villa itself is all about tasteful, understated luxury – the pictures don’t do it justice. We did wonder about getting around and about, but it was really easy – taxis are readily available and cheap, and a number of local restaurants provide a free taxi service anyway. Not for everyone, but I also hired a motorbike for quick jaunts into town. The staff were just lovely in every way and Novi and Made are wonderful cooks (they made us dinner on our first night and then breakfast and lunch each day, with dinner out). Nothing is too much trouble – they clearly wanted us to have the perfect stay. We’d return here in a heartbeat. Our thanks to everyone involved!
