From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel really welcome by all of the staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. This villa itself is as discribed, and probably bigger than expected. Both the property and gardens were imaculatley kept. Even with a bigger group, there is always a quiet place than can be found, if required. The pool is a great size and much bigger than the other villas near by, that said you are not overlooked by them. The villa is on quite a hillside and while walking into the local area is fairly easy,(downhill! ) The walk back is not for the fainthearted as it is very steep. There is a small resort about a 5 minute walk away which allows residents of the villa to use their bar and restaurant facilities, which is handy for the one day a week when the villa staff are day off – which was a Sunday when we visited. A great place to relax and the villa makes that very easy. Accross the valley there is a very steep road which is a challange to trucks and mopeds alike which does produce some background noise which can be heard outside but is not noticeable inside and also does greatly reduce during the hours of darkness. This is a great place to experience the real Bali, and while its approximatley a 3 hr drive from the airport – it is well worth the journey. Cabs are very cheap by Western standards and I would not recoment a hire car unless you are a very experienced driver.
