“We had a lovely week-long holiday at Villa Bayu. Communication with Angelique leading up to the trip was excellent, and the guide she provided to the villa and its surroundings was helpful and very comprehensive. Getting to the villa from the airport is a good trek up and over the mountains and down the other side to the coast. A good 3-4 hours depending on traffic. The villa itself is up a very steep winding track meaning you have to take transport (taxi or scooter) for pretty much any outing. The plus side is the amazing views to the sea and surrounding jungle, the cool breezes and piece and quiet. The villa is exactly as described, well equipped, well furnished and very comfortable. What made the stay for us though were the delightful local team of Villa Bayu who made us so welcome and looked after us so well. Kadek and Made were stars and nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The location is perfect for a week’s stay in terms of things to do. We found the beauty of the local countryside more attractive than the slightly disappointing beaches (dark sand and a bit too much litter/plastic). In summary a great place to get away from it all, to relax, unwind and enjoy a different side of Bali from the South.”
